Carol Moore was born in Glasgow, and studied at Glasgow School of Art, graduating with a B.A.hons. in drawing and painting. Carol was subsequently Awarded a Greenshields travelling scholarship and spent a year in Aix-en-Provence in France at the Ecole des Beaux-arts.
Carol’s work is mainly concentrated in two subject areas, still life and narrative paintings with figures and animals. Colour has always been a dominant force in her work and she values strong drawing and owes this to her Glasgow art school training.
Carol has been awarded the Herring prize by the Pastel Society at the Mall Galleries London and is accepted into membership of the Paisley Art Institute in 2011.
Carol has exhibited widely throughout the UK especially Scotland and had the opportunity to exhibit in Germany. Her work is held in private collections in the U.S. and Australia.
Carol now works from a studio at her home in Balloch, a small town by the banks of Loch Lomond in the west of Scotland.
