Scott’s work is heavily influenced by his strong interest in physics and in particular the way in which colour and light are combined. He initially inflates everyday contemporary looking items in order to apply paint in a painterly meticulous manner, exploring the way colour regresses as the amount of light does. Also, removing the item into a new, slightly surreal environment allows more room for personal interpretation of the subject.
Scott is a trained screen printer and began his painting career fulfilling private commissions and has gained many followers who admire his striking work; more recently he has enjoyed success at several Exhibitions in Scotland and in 2019 had his first oversees exhibition at The Scottish Gallery, Noyers, in France.
